ANYONE KNOW of a standalone program
that can replace colors or stretches of color
in an image sequence or an image??

let say you just want to replace all the
red with a green in a photo.I’m nt talking
coloriing where images et tinted a certain color.

I mean BLUNTLY replace x color with
another one so you get flat blocks of color??

thanks.

Are you assuming threshold for the color? After all, the image has 16.7 million plus colors!

PS

Any number of programs will let you reduce 16 or 24 or 32 bit color to 8 bit. Then ask the question…what do I do with 256 colors LOL

I like Colour Editor – it’s very easy to use. 🙂 AFAIK it can’t handle image sequences but it works nicely on BMPs and JPGs.

Program: Colour Editor
Author: Peter Bone
Install: (n.i.)
Ware: Freeware

Colour Editor can change a particular colour in a bitmap to another colour when there are a lot of seperated regions of the colour, which would take a long time to change by filling each one. It can also change colours that are not exactly the same by adjusting the tollerance, which can be used to edit colours in photos. Now includes bulk image editor.

The zip file contains two color editors:
Bulk_ColorEditor.exe
ColorEditor.exe

I haven’t tried the bulk editor.

This makes sense, since the threshold I mentioned is probably the tollerance. Such changes can be made by reducing bit size as I mentioned and adjusting the Hue controls to alter the color palette.

Maybe I missing something but there are a large number of programs that have a "flood fill" option which have an icon that looks like paint pouring out of a bucket. Some programs have an option called tolerance that lets you adjust the degree to which similar colors are changed by the option.
