OK, I’m getting a bit frustrated with the automated web gallery feature of Photoshop as the produced albums do not display correctly in Firefox and there is only one style that I think is any good (Simple – Vertical Thumbnails).

Searching the web I see that there are a lot of programs that specialise in this. I was wondering if anybody with any experience with a few of them has any recommendations? I only want quite simple laid out galleries, without fancy frames and skins. While I want a minimalist look, using Flash would be fine.

Cheers

I’m a fan of JAlbum.
It’s free, Java based, and has a lot of styles available. http://jalbum.net/

If you have MM Flash why not use that? there is even a template already made in there.
put all images into same size and number sequentially, MM does the rest!

Based on your message, I just downloaded JAlbum and tried it. It is very nice and very easy to create a variety of pretty darn good galleries. I am pleasantly impressed.

Thanks Mike.

Thanks. Shame that they don’t show any gallery examples. I suppose that it is primarily a image manager, I’ll check it out.

yep, I have a few examples with one at
http://finepix.95mb.com/seaworld/
which is 100 yards from where I live
and if you replace seaworld with ‘bush’
you’ll still be in the centre of our city
about 5 kilos from here

It’s not, or at least I’ve never used it for anything other than galleries and it’s the only thing I’ve used for years.
