Damaged Photoshop Files

I just recovered from a HD crash. I can recover my Photoshop files from the damaged HD but most are unusable by Photoshop CS2. I have found a few demos of programs designed to recover these files. They work quite well but the licenses for them are expensive. (Around $150). The demo versions leave a watermark on the print.

Does anyone know of a freeware or reasonably priced program that will recover damaged files?

Thanks

I guess I should have been a little clearer….I have a file recovery program that works. Some of the larger recovered PSD files are not readable by Photoshop. I am looking for a program to fix the recovered PSD files.

Greetings,

I suppose you using Active@ Undelete or Uneraser (DOS) utilities to restore erased data. These are truly powerful data recovery utilties that never never failed me before. They were always able to restore lost data, even considered completely lost. That should really help you. Give it a try.

I have written a GPL utility which extracts layers from PSDs ( http://www.telegraphics.com.au/svn/psdparse/branches/psdpars e_png/). This can sometimes work with corrupt files, can you send me a file to test with?
