I very rarely use Photoshop so don’t have much experience with it. Hopefully my problems are simple for someone with experience.
I was able to create some gifs that I use as buttons on a web page and they’re okay. Now that I have more time I’d like to modify those gifs (adjust the spacing on the letters of the words) but I’m having some problems.
The first thing I notice is that when I open the .gif in Photoshop it says
[filename] [view]% (Index)
Can someone tell me what ‘Index’ means? I don’t know what I did when creating the gif to get that but it seems to be the problem I’m having when trying to modify the gif
I can go to Channels and see Index and Alpha 1 channels. When I delete the Alpha 1 channel I’m able to lasso and nudge the text like I want but then my gif has a colored background (gray). The un-modified .gif is apparently transparent because it displays on the web page without the gray background color.
Thanks for any help
