I have about 450 images that I need to increase to 100% Magnification, then resize to 640X480 and save into a new folder. I also need to rename each image in sequence starting with 1, 2, 3, etc.. I have tried some of the Batch processing instruction in the Help files but without any luck. I know it can be done because I did some of it way back when I was in college.

I am using Photoshop 7.0 and am running Win XP Pro.

Does anyone have any ideas so that I can Automate this process instead of doing it image by image.

1) Changing the magnification, only changes how you view the image, the file itself is not changed so you can forget that part.

Assuming all the files are proportional to 640×480 pixels:

a) open up a sample file.
b) record an action resizing it to 640 x 480 pixels
c) Batch process the files saving the resulting ones in a new folder (thus keeping the originals.

As for renaming them, you will probably need some utility or another. I believe Irfanview will do the job for you. Maybe someone else can confirm, this.

If you use Windows XP, it can do the renaming for you.

Another possibility is Photoshop Album. It can do the resize and the renaming very easily. [Not sure if the free, "SE", version has these capabilities.]
