Is it possible to install photohop 7 on a disk (windows XP) with photoshop 6 already on?

Do I delete psicon.dll?

Thanks

I have unstalled Ph 6 and installed PS 7 without problems.

How about reinstalling my Ph 5 version that was compatible with HVS filters and other plugins?

Should work. I’ve used v4 on XP with a little care (ISTR page file settings might need tweaking).

Isn’t this the .dll that allows windows to show thumbnail copies of .psd files?
If it is, you would miss this feature were you to delete it!

Why would you want to delete it in any case?

No.

Hi Jean

Not quite sure what the "Non" relates to!!
I checked and it is indeed the .dll that allows windows to depict PSD files as thumbnails – it was no longer included with PScs (not sure about cs2 as I don’t have it) –

If you delete it save it
I put it back after finding CS doesn’t make PSD thumbs in Explorer. Adobe recommends against it but so far I have no problems with it. if you install version 7.0 MAKE SURE TO GET THE PATCH INSTALLED to 7.01 it is very buggy without it.
