Curves Makes Photoshop CS lockup w/Windows

Switched to Windows XP and Photoshop CS at the same time (brand new Dell desktop system). When I attempt to open the Curves dialog box, the application freezes (menus grayed out, etc.). I have to run task manager to get out of it. Oh, and the cursor chages to the eyedropper.

Sounds like the dialog box is off the screen. You must have your monitor set to 1024×768 for Photoshop CS. If you do, try trashing your prefs as per the details in the FAQs.
