put the rulers on percent make guides at 50% vertically and horizontally

It is my experience that just dragging a guide out it will automatically snap to the centre of a document quite visibly as you near that centre. same for vertical and horizontal. i have used this method for ages…

I selected the whole image, but not sure where the center is marked, would that be in the INFO TAB, on the Navigator/Info tool ???

Use the Crop Tool (C) to select the whole image by dragging from the upper left corner to the lower right. Don’t use Select All, nor Ctrl-A. You will see a blinking dotted line marking the borders of the image. At each corner and in the middle of each side, there’s a little box. If you haven’t quite selected the whole image, you can drag one or more of these boxes to make a complete selection. In the center of the image there’s a little circle with lines extending from it. This is THE CENTER OF THE IMAGE. Put your cursor on the center of this circle. Note the position of the center, which is in the Info pallette, in the lower left hand corner, indicated by a + sign.
