I have a number of images of people (hair) on busy backgrounds

What do folks recommend for good extraction / masking tools (plug-in) ?

Channel masking–using a copy of a channel as a basis to build a mask.

I’m not so sure channel masking will work well with a busy background.

I usually mask out the best I can leaving the hair edges for last, and then turn down the opacity of the brush your masking with, and zoom in and go to work.

Channel making works good for some pictures but I haven’t had real good luck with subjects with a busy background.
