I am a little confused as to whether the color in my files is correct or not

I create a sample file in Illus then save (this makes no difference if I save as ai, eps or PDF)

When I reasterize in Photoshop (NO RGB or other color modes used – using CMYK)the colors are different.

Examples:

Illus C80 Y100 – Opened in PS – C72 Y90

Illus C100 M100 – Opened in PS – C96 M85

Illus M10 Y100 – Opened in PS – M99 Y86

Illus Y100 – Opened in PS – Y95

Questions. Assuming the saved EPS and PDFs are color accurate (no reason to doubt this), can I change some settings on PS to have convert color correctly?

Thanks

Brian

Unless the two applications are using the same color space, it is not unreasonable for them to show different results. So, before going further, determine what color space Illustrator uses and what color space Photoshop uses.

From Illustrator’s Edit>Colour Settings d/box SAVE your colour settings to a colour settings file (.CSF)
From Photoshop’s Edit>Colour Settings d/box LOAD the .CSF file you just saved. you can now be sure both applications are using the same colour management settings

Thanks for sharing that. I learned something
valuable from your post. : -)

Wow indeed. The answer and a second opinion – all in under 22 minutes.

Where else can you get that kind of service?
