Hello,

Since I have installed my smartscan scanner, the color of all the images I open with Photoshop is "washed out"! Instead, when I open the images with the Windows Picture viewer or with photoshop elements 2, the color is fine! I have tried to reinstall photoshop several times: nothing! I have also tried to uninstall the scanner and I have the same problem. Please Help!!!

Not sure, but run Adobe Gamma again (from the Windows Control Panel). Rob

Photoshop is a colour managed application whereas the Windows viewer is not. The washed out look comes from the difference between your working space and the scanner’s profile.

All you need to do is to assign the proper profile to your image for it to look "right"

Some profiles probably came with your scanner software, or you can build a custom one if you have the right software.
