Is there a simple way to transfer plugin filters when upgrading Photoshop to a new version?

Store your plug-ins in a separate folder
(not in C:programs/adobe….)
When you install a new version all you have to do is direct PS to that folder via Edit~Preferences~ Pug-in &Scratch disk.
