I’m working with several scanned documents turned into .BMP files. How do I convert these to pure text or rather how do I get them pure black and white contrasts so only the text is printed and none of the little speckles in the feild of white?

try image>adjustments>threshold. you may have to clean up the "little speckles" by hand though

Create an action with one of them then batch them.

You need OCR software to convert to text.

You can try converting to "bitmap" instead of "grayscale". But will probably still leave some trash here and there.

Best way to OCR is at time of scanning with OCR program active, although most programs do allow you to do it from files, which generally need to be 300ppi at actual paper size.

Use ocr to convert them to actual text.
