I’m trying to duplicate the following image of a circuit board. What I’m trying to do is make the lines solid instead of inner shadow.

I’m trying to save myself some without having to re-create every line and circle.

Does any one have any suggestion on how I make the lines solid?

Simple emboss effect in the layers palette ought to do it.

Good call, however, I’m not able to select the lines. When I try to use the magic wand it selects the entire image.

Any other suggestion?

If you have a cleaner, more noise-free image than this jpg, applying a Threshold adjustment layer may be all you need. If you must use the current image, applying the Despeckle filter and then a Threshold adjustment of 208 also looks pretty good although some edges of the traces are still a little rough.

Maybe like this?

Curves, fills and gradients.

+12V on it and I could listen to Radio Caroline again.

Thanks dudes for your help. Daryl I did what you suggested and that’s pretty close.

Let say I wanted to start from scratch, is there an easier way to create the lines? I worried about the corners.

It didn’t take long at all, now all I have to do is add the circles at the end of each line and I’m done.

Thanks, Mike, yes, the manual is an ok place to start. I’ve read better. Have you played around with Tolerance (hey, there’s a concept foreign to many of the less-than-helpful lurkers here) for the magic wand tool? Or Select|Similar?
