When uploading pictures from my Kodak camera, the pictures are 300dpi. The stand alone software displays and prints the image as an 8×10.

However, when opening the image in PS 5 or 6, the image is enlarged to gigantic proportions and shows as being 72dpi – making resizing a whole disc-load very time consuming. (Not quite got the hang of Batch stuff yet)

Any thoughts on why this happens ?

Thanks

I think 5 and 6 (and maybe 7) had a problem reading the exif (image) info. i believe CS ( 8 ) has this worked out.

I think the spec was changing until recently. I could be wrong, but most camera manufacturers impliment the exif data differently.
