Removing background images, or watermarks?

I’ve got a document with bl**dy annoying background images, or watermarks. I’ve tried to remove them as per Acrobat CS4 Help, but they are still there. I can select the image, so I guess it must be a separate object.

How do I remove them? See extract below:

Select it and press the delete key? It works that way in NitroPDF.

Nope!

Two methods found:

Use the TouchUp Object Tool to select the images and then press Delete.

Or open the content panel, right click and item to select highlighting, traverse through the tree and delete when you encounter the image.

Test PDF now removed, as it was copyrighted.

I used select text to get the first paragraph and pasted to MS WORD>file>new then I used "select table" copy pasted
then the rest of the text, copy pasted

now there is no background at all
