This is dumb newbie question I suppose.
I’ve studied the Manual and a number of advanced Photoshop books but none of them seem to say what RGB values the Info Palette is actually reading. Are they the RGB values inherent in an image or are they the RGB values as displayed on the monitor.
I’m asking this because in using the Info Palette to read a greyscale wedge with 256 wedges I can read RGB values from 0 to 255. Does this mean that my monitor is calibrated correctly (using ColorVision Spyder with Optical), or is the Info Palette only the values in the greyscale wedge regardless of how my monitor is set.
