At work I have designed an image that has a gradient for a background. On screen it looks fine, but when I print it, the gradient has lines in it all the way from top to bottom. I need the gradient to look smooth because I work in printing and we can’t show our customers something that looks like a printer problem, which this does but isn’t. Any suggestions on how to make the gradient print without these lines? Thanks.
btw-The image size is 17×22, might this be the problem?

Brian,

Add around 2px of noise (Filter>Noise). That will smooth it out when printing
