When I try to crop an image I get the error. I have three disks specified c:\ 74 Gb
d:\ 24 Gb
g:\ 121 Gb

All three have been defragged, and yet I continue to get the error. Any other ideas?

Three questions come to mind:

1.) what ver of PS are you using?
2.) how are your preferences set for Scratch Disk usage?
3.) what is the available space on each of these disks?

On the surface, the sizes seem adequate, provided that the available space within those sizes is large.

Lastly, are these physical, or logical disks? This should not affect your Scratch Disk usage, causing errors, but can affect speed performance.

Are you using C as first preference disk? And is does it have only a small amount of space available?

Sorry, the ver is CS, the disk spaces are available spaces. Available spaces should be max, since I defragged.

c: and d: are on one disk
g: is another disk (external USB drive)

Spaces shown are the available spaces on each.

d: is the primary. The disk spaces shown are the space available on each partition.

c and d are on one drive and g is on a separate 200gb external usb drive.

Cliff,

In Edit>Preferences>Plugins & Scratch Disks, set your primary Scratch Disk to G:\, then (and I’m sure this will make a real difference, but I’d go for the smaller, but separate, partition-wise) D:\, then C:\.

Thanks, Hunt.

That had no effect. I couldn’t see where it would, since there is so much space available on all three drives. I’m afraid a re-install is in my future. I have to be able to crop.

Yes, but swap C and D as the OP said D was the system disk.
