upgrade W98 to XP – no toolbox on PS 5.0

I have Photoshop 5.0 and just upgraded my PC from Windows 98 to XP. When I open a picture now, the tool box does not appear. ‘Show/Hide Tools’ still appears in the ‘Window’ drop down box, but the Toolbox does not appear on the screen.

Upgraded how? If you did an in place upgrade over Win 98 you’ll have nothing but headaches.

Operating systems, contrary to Microsofts’s marketing hype, need to be installed cleanly.

set your screen’s resolution to the maximum to see if it’s off screen. also if you’re converting from dual monitors to a single it may also be off screen. either rehook up the 2nd monitor or reset the prefrences to get everything back on the main screen.

Thanks for the help. I set the screen resolution to the maximum, reset it, and the toolbox appeared.
