hello Hecate,
Thanks for your kindness.
I’m using Win ME; Photoshop 5.5; NVIDIA 32M Vega card and 128M Memory… Plz reply as soon as you can, Hecate
Thank you so much!! 🙂
Looking at what you’ve go it could be any of a number of things:
1. WinME is dog and can cause all sorts of problems – it’s quite possible that it’s caused by an error in WinME.
2. As it was when you just installed it could be that your CD has a corrupt file on it (in which case contact Adobe)
3. You should never run any anti-virus when installing – that cause a corrupt file or other problems. If you did that then that could be the problem.
4. It could be a problem with your memory – maybe a corrupt module/. That could cause a problem because it begins hitting the memory hard from launch (and you have barely enough to run PS and Windows at the same time).
Those are the main things that spring to mind.
What you can do:
1. If you did 3 then uninstall and reinstall without your AV running.
2. For problem 4 all you can do is remove the memory module you have and try a replacement (or if you have a pair remove one and try it with a replacement. If it still happens, then swap out the other one).
3. For problem 1 the only solution is to get a decent operating system. However, it’s worth uninstalling and reinstalling first.
4. You won’t know if it’s [problem 2 unless you’ve tried everything else first.
