I have recently upgraded to PS CS from PS6. For some reason jpeg files saved using CS are 2 or 3 times larger in file size than the same image saved using 6. I am setting the compression to level 6 on both PS versions and also the image format is baseline standard on both PS versions.

Am I missing something? Is there another setting which determnines filesize? Or has the compression spec changed between these two versions of Photoshop?

Thanking you for your assistance.

More meta data is being retained, Dan.

For small file sizes use Save for Web which strips meta data
