In PhotoShop 7 it was a quick 3-4 step process to get a crisp, transparent PNG which we place in PowerPoint XP slides. Now, in CS, when I try to export to PNG, it has a black background when placed on a slide. The GIF is okay, but prefer the higher-quality PNG. I went to HELP and tried that, but no matter what I do, the black background is still a problem. What changed between 7.0 and CS? IDEAS would be wonderful.

Just to check: are you saving as a PNG-24, or a PNG-8? Also, remember to check "Transparency" when saving out.

The PNG-24 works fine for me in Powerpoint.

Is there a specific reason why you don’t just copy/paste between PS and PPT?

Maybe I’m doing something wrong, but when I try that, transparency is lost.

transparency is lost

That would seem to be the answer to my question.
I’m sure I’ve made it work …
