PS-CS manual and install question

Hi folks,

Two questions. When installing Photoshop CS it I got the message that performance is enhanced if you install a portion of the program (don’t recall what it was) on another drive. Do you know what this is and can I still do that?

Also, is there a way to print out a manual to read over when not at the computer? It would be nice to have as a reference. Yes, I know it would be long.
