i’m a new digital SLR shooter, and as such ive been introduced to the workflow quagmire.
my original plan was to shoot in RAW+jpg format (canon can embed a jpg inside the raw) and extract the jpg. then do post-processing in PS and post to my site. id keep the RAWs for the ones i like in case i want to do some large prints–just SaveAs to a lossless TIFF or hi-quality jpg, re-process, and give to the printer.
the problem? i do a lot of post-processing stuff in PS. very creative stuff, and im finding that its difficult to figure out eactly what i did to the jpg and reproduce it anew. damn.
a solution? embedded histories. in photoshop, it could be an option while saving: "Embed History in image?" Then, when opening it, one could see what they did, by the numbers.. or better yet–"Apply History to Another" image.
does this exist??! thoughts!?
