Hello,

I own a Canon i865 printer. Many of the colours it prints are very adequate. If I make a test print of coloured blocks in all the primary (RGB) colours and the RG GB and RB mixes most come out pretty close to the PS indicated closest printer gamut colours, the yellow and cyan are even closer to the on screen colour. Only the reds are a MESS. It’s brownish, almost has a grey quality in it.
Yet if I print a yellow to red gradient, there are bits in the end result on paper far closer to true red. So somehow the translation of red to my printer’s idea of red is wrong.

How can I adjust the settings so my printer’s colours will more closely match those on my screen ? Is there a standard workflow ?

Another thing is the purple comes out banded, with blueish band, the other colours are pretty even throughout.

I have a link to a (scanned, so not fully realistic, my scanner has its own flaws exaggerating the issues here and there, for instance the black and greys are fantastic on paper, but not as good in scan) example of the scans. http://eniac.xs4all.nl/canoni865.html

Tips and help very welcome!
TIA
Pjotr
