This is probably a simple problem, but I’m clueless.

I purchased a Nikon D80 a couple of months ago and have been shooting like mad.

I save the pictures as jpegs and have about 3 gig or more of this type.

I recently opened ms word and tried to insert (or copy) a picture into a new document. I can see an outline of a picture, but no image. Same thing happens with powerpoint.

I have been able to insert other non-Nikon pictures into these documents without problems.

What happened?

Thanks in advance

Michael

A little off topic unless you’re using Photoshop. Tell us about your computer, operating system, etc. and what version of PS?

What do you do to "insert" pictures into documents?

When you get the outline of a photo in a document where you tried to insert a Nikon picture, what happens when you double left mouse click inside the outline?

Do you have access to the msnews.microsoft.com news server? Your problem may be a MS problem and not a PS problem?

I have MS word 2003 and power point but using canon files

using insert picture from file> I can insert any picture on my comp that is jpg or tiff
are you trying >>insert picture from scanner or camera??

check the options, the display options
make sure use picture placeholders is unchecked

are the files too large for MS?? I can remember some issues in publisher not recognizing too large files

are you sure there is an image in the jpg? you can see it in picture fax viewer?

MS word cannot recognize RAW or DNG format? you’re sure they are saved in jpg?

did you start a new document or trying to paste into an existing one??

it is weird
