I don’t know where to post this message but I hope someone can help. My daughter purchased a new Dell computer that was supposed to have Windows XP. When it was turned on for the first time, Windows 95 came up. The computer would go no further other than the screen that said Windows 95. She called Dell and they said to get the XP CD that came with the computer and install it. She did, rebooted and, once again, Windows 95 came up. I called them myself and went through the installation steps and got the same thing. So far, the company has been unable to fix the problem. One of their employees told my daughter that it sounds like she got a "refurbished" computer but she paid for a new one so that makes no sense. Besides, even a refurbished computer ought to allow XP to write over Windows 95, shouldn’t it? The computer was purchased from a Dell store in Frisco, Texas so it’s not as though it was bought from a questionable dealer. Can anyone help? The company apparently cannot or will not. Thanks for any help.
