Hello there,

I had some really good photos done of myself, but unfortunately, because I just had a fresh haircut, the wave in my hair makes it look like I have a small bald spot, where there is really none. I know, disheartening. These were taken digitally, so I am wondering if anyone here is, or can refer me to, a photoshop artist who has experience in touching up photos of people. This person would have to be really good,
i.e. a master.

If you know of anyone, please email me at eb7g@ shaw.ca.

Thank you!

Be aware that we have had a few people come in here with similar stories when in fact at least one was actually soliciting a free touch-up job for a client whom he billed big bucks. If you aren’t a Photoshop user, nor interested in doing it yourself, please consider soliciting a different group.

Please explain this.

This is on the up and up, I assure you. I’ll be talking on the phone and be willing to provide as much proof and assurance that 1) I am not a hustler, 2) this is for my own photos and 3) that jjs is a bit of a wanker. Ok, maybe I can’t prove that last part, but this post says it loud and clear.

Also, I’m not a photoshop user, which is why I am here. Where would I go, a Pagemaker group? I think you owe me an apology.

Just wear your hair piece next time you get photographed or learn to use the very basic tools in Photoshop.

Well….I’ve used photoshop before, very basic stuff, I mean I know how to rubber stamp and all, but I’m no master and these photos are quite important…I’d rather someone who KNOWS that they are doing tackle it.

Why would you considert them "really good" then? Get a re-shoot with the photographer. If I shot pix like that I would consider them really bad.

Then I would suggest you consider using the yellow pages for the nearest town of any consequence and locating a professional graphics shop. You’d be better standing with them while the work is done.

Considering the number of trolls in groups like this – you aren’t ‘owed’ an apology, but your name calling shows a lot about you.

What about asking the person who took the pictures? Most photographers I know can edit as well as shoot.

If this is on the up and up, I suggest have the photographer retake the pictures. He didn’t notice this after he took them, and THEY’RE DIGITAL? Please. Sounds phony to me.

Hiya, I’ve been away.

There are two problems with this. One, I don’t want to pay for another sitting fee AND also hope to get more good photos, as there was a lot of work put into them both by myself and the photographer (if you ever had to have professional photos taken, you’d know what I mean) and two, the problems is just a spot of hair misplaced. Totally fixable without retaking and the photo otherwise is good.

To put it simply, it’s not worth the trouble of retaking because they’re good enough.

Then do a search for a touchup artist and hire them. How hard can this be?

That is absurd! There should be NO charge to re-shoot something you are not happy with! It is unprofessional to ask for more money to do the job right. This is all assuming however, that the job CAN be done better. Some models/clients are never happy with whatever they get.

I personally hate having my pictures taken by anybody. However, I have shot literally thousands of different people in over twenty years as a photographer myself. Does that count? ;o)

Hmm…not really. I’ll tell you why it different from my shoes. I liked the photos and I like the photographer very much. I would like to use them again and also perhaps for other projects.

I feel it would not be good karma/cool/whatever to put them out like that for such a small problem.

However, I know many other people who have had terrible photos done and I know that they won’t use that person again, so I tell them…..get a reshoot. If I thought I’d never use these people again, I’d press for a reshoot. Even if I thought I would use these people again, if the people were that bad to warrant a reshoot, I would ask for a reshoot.

So I guess you can look at this from the perspective from the other side of the camera ZONED!
