I’ve been using the free FirstCap at –
www.falsinsoft.cjb.net
for years and found it faultless.
(I see he’s now asking for testers for v4)

Ay carumba. The software may be good, but it triggered a JavaScript adware alert when I connected.

Which triggers a KILL KILL KILL (caps intended) reaction with me (as do the Cookie and Macromedia attempts).

I have a Microsoft wireless keyboard and in addition to assigning different functions to the F keys you can also disable the capslock key.

In article , says…

I solved that problem with a small screw-driver. Now the caps-lock key sits in the bopttom of the mug that holds my
spare pens/pencils.

And if I actualy ever NEED caps-lock, the eraser end of one of the pencils is an ideal tool to poke into the hole where
the key used to be.

Hi Mike,
I like that one, simple and aggressive.
Thanks to everyone for their suggestions.

Yep – you can use your fingernail if you can get the leverage – but a screwdriver is easier (actually I may have used a
filing cabinet key or some other handy piece of steel). The key (on any modern keyboard) should just pop off.

Turn on "Toggle keys" in Windows accessibility options, you’ll hear a tone each time you press Caps lock.

Hi Nicholas,
That worked very well. Your suggestion also allowed me to select a smaller menu font, thereby allowing more viewing area, and to change the cursor pointer so it inverts according to background. Sometimes I loose track of the pointer and I hope this will help keep track of it. Thank you,
Ron

HEY it doesn’t suck as much as insert key
if you press that by mistake it erases all your typing as you go//////////////,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and then what if you want the caps lock on to change brushes etc?? some keyboard drivers allow you to assign key functions in selected software perhaps you can disable the key for just PS.
I would try that first
