PICT file meta data

We have a number of QuickDraw pict files that contain keywords describing the picture. On a mac with photo shop you can see these keywords in the file info. On a PC with photo shop they are not visible.

Why is this?

I have a strong suspicion that, for that file format, the metadata is stored in the file’s resource fork (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resource_fork), which means it is not transferred to/seen by the PC.

Thanks for this, not sure about the transfer the files were send to us copied onto a pc and emailed to the mac.
