Hello.
I want to buy a new notebook and I’m going to install PS 8(phtoshop8) in it.I wonder if you can direct me.I want to buy Toshiba tecra A1 with Mobile Intel® Pentium® 4 processor at 2.20 GHz and I’ll will increase it’s RAM to 1024.
but my problem is it’s vga (graphic memory) is 64 shared . (Intel 852GM integrated graphics controller chipset; 64MB DDR) Can this video memory support PS8 (and other new graphic applications)? Any suggestion?
Regards
Reza

Only VGA? That specification is 640×480. I don’t think PS will run in less than 800×600, and 1024×768 is needed for some features, like the palette well.

I would suggest buying this machine for Photoshop is a mistake.

I doubt very much that’s it’s really VGA. Most new laptops are at least 1024×768.

No I meant video memory.
Is (Intel 852GM integrated graphics controller chipset; 64MB DDR) ok for PS8?

Reza,

Photoshop (and all other graphics apps that I know of) will use no more video RAM than that required by your Screen Rez/Colour depth.

IOW, it will be fine….
