I’m using Photoshop CS and have just noticed that none of the keyboard shortcuts work on my installation – I’ve tried everything CTRL + etc

Does anyone know why this is happening (or not as the case may be)

Probably because you have a pirated copy.

I’d think that Adobe would mention this problem on their support site. Do you have CS or CCS? (Cracked CS)?

You have a bootleg copy of Photoshop. This is a known bug in the activation crack–it kills your Control key.

Buy a legal version. You won’t have that problem.

Two known causes for this problem:

1/ A cracked version of PSCS

2/ Faulty keyboard drivers. (In this case i believe it applies largely to Logitech keyboards.) Download the latest drivers for your keyboard.

Cheers…

They do, it’s a known issue – see the FAQ for the Photoshop forum. Either the original poster needs to check their keyboard drivers, or they’re using a cracked version.

Adobe should release its own crack … one that phones home, identifying homes to be raided by the Feds. It won’t catch some, but the dummies it does catch could be liable for quite a bit of money.

Wouldn’t work. Not everyone using the activation crack is an unlicensed user; some legitimate users don’t like product activation. Adobe could open itself up to a great deal of liability if it accused legitimate users of piracy…

….even if the Feds would be willing to do this, which they wouldn’t.

Either you have a bad keyboard driver (check for updates), or you have a widely pirated copy of Photoshop with known keyboard problems due to a bad crack (and who knows what virus/trojan attached).
