I need to create a ‘bubble’ for a poster that I am creating. The poster is an underwater theme and I need bubbles coming out of a scuba diver in the image. The bubbles have images inside them, so I need them to be large. Can anyone tell me how to create bubbles using photoshop?

Draw a circle using the shape tools and make the path a mask for your layer. Play with subtle shading in the bevel & emboss effects to make it look like a bubble. You might prefer the results you get with a white to transparent raidal gradient on a layer above the bubble, and linked to it. Play with transparency and overlay modes to get the results you like.

To really make them look like bubbles, repeat the effect for lots of smaller, and empty bubbles in a train from the diver’s SS.

They may not be exactly what you are looking for but may give you some ideas to work on.
