Hi,

How can I apply a gradual color balance when I know the rdb code at each end of the gradient.

I know how to change the color balance consistantly accross an image but not get a gradual shift simialr to the effect when using the gradiant tool.

A link to a tutorial would even do. I have tried without success down this path too.

I am using Photoshop 5.

Thanks in advance …

Adam

In 5 (IIRC, it’s been while) there’s an option to set the gradient to blend from ‘Foreground to Background’, referring to the foreground/background colors. Since you know the start/end rgb values you can double click on the foreground color box and enter that rgb value and do the same for the background and you should be able to do apply the gradient you’re after.

Duplicate the background to a new layer. Apply the color balance to the entire new layer. Create a layer mask for the layer. Fill the layer mask with a black to white gradient.
