MSCONFIG
For Windows XP users, if you want to see what’s starting up on your computer, you
can use the MSCONFIG utility at the START/RUN… box.
It will show you what ‘secret’ programs are running. I use this along with CTRL – ALT – DEL
to get the Task Manager. I’ve been able to spot viral programs this way. Also you can use
Windows’ SYSTEM RESTORE to recover from viruses or viral like behaviors. I do it all the
time since I don’t use virus programs (slows down system terribly…and I have a blazing system).
Just a tip for those who did not know.
