I’m doing a CD cover for a client, and he has a UPC number. I don’t know how to go from the number to having a bar code graphic that I can place onto the project for printing. Anyone have any experience with this..? I’m assuming there’s some software out there that will convert the number to a barcode in some sort of an image file that I can place into my PS document?

Thanks…

Dave

The place where I have my DVD duplicated do them for 6 cent a copy plus $30.00 setup fee on run smaller than 2000, maybe your press people offer something similar. Might not be worth it to buy and learn the required software for this one time deal.

Dave,

you have two options here:

1. Use a software that generates a high res TIFF of the UPC barcode that can then be imported or pasted into PS, e.g.
http://www.winbarcode.com/bg.php

or

2. Use a barcode font for Code UPC (that can be used like any other font in PS) e.g. http://www.winbarcode.com/barcoder.php

Just use a UPC font. Take a look at www.morovia.com/font/ueb.asp a great source of UPC fonts.
