Is there a way to choose a 16-bit color in 16-bit mode. My color picker only allows 255 levels even though the image is 16-bit and should allow for 32768 levels.

Is this something that cannot be done? If it can’t is there a plugin or application that would allow me to edit higher dynamic range images in their actual ranges.

This would be primarily for the purpose of archival work. Secondarily it could be useful for HDRI images for use in 3D environments.

BG,

Seeing as how your screen can only display an 8-bit representation of the image anyway, you wouldn’t be able to see the difference whilst adjusting or afterwards…….
