I often have to crop the rubbish out of my photo’s, if I then send the photo to be printed by a photo shop I sometimes lose parts because when I have cropped I did not keep the aspect ratio to the standard 4×6 photo dimensions, is there a easy foolproof way to crop whilst keeping to 4X6? I am using Photoshop 7.

FWIW I have tried doing it using the rectangular marquee tool but I wondered if there was a way to do it using just the crop tool?

John.

At the top of the crop page, enter 6 inches and 4 inches. – Max

Select the rectangular marquee tool. You will then see a drop-down style box. Select either fixed size or fixed aspect ration (I prefer the latter), then enter the size you want in the width and height boxes. Then go to "image" and select "crop". The size will stay selected until you change it.

once you select the crop tool, simply enter the desired width and height in the there text box and that’s it. What I find pleasant in PSP CS is the new button between width and height text box that easily swaps the two values.
