You can get rid of a watermark on a specific pic by cloning or doing something. But what if the watermark is standard on a lot of pics? Is there some way to make a layer or mask to deal with a watermark on any pic?

Inotherwords, how would I create an anti-watermark?

For an example of a WM of the type I’m talking about, download a trial version of Keyhole LT
http://www.keyhole.com/body.php?h=downloads

Notice the WM on the satellite pics?

I have Photoshop 8 and Paint Shop Pro 8.

(Yes, I know I can get rid of the mark by subscribing. This is an academic question.)

Yeah, right. And George Bush is a liberal.

Just cut and paste over the water mark from the original image. It is that simple.

Actually, it the situation I pointed to, I can do that. You can, in effect, move the watermark, so you have something to use.

But let me ask more generally. Lets say you have a definite shape and size area of excessive gamma. Can you make an anti-gamma layer that you could use anytime you wanted?

Yes! There are several tools in Photoshop 6 for doing this.

How stupid of me! There is was right in front of me. I’m not used to these programs, but now I feel embarrassed for asking such a simple question. I thank you for steering me to the obvious. But I still have one curiosity. The "About Photoshop." on mine says v 9.0 beta (but I don’t have anything to do with the installations). I’m not sure what you mean when you say 6. Is that a different language version or something?

Interesting. There isn’t a version 9. The latest is CS and that would be 8.
