Help please…I have just set up dual monitors. I usually have Internet Explorer, Macromedias Flash, Dreamweaver and Photoshop running at the same time. All 3 programs allow me to have my application on one monitor and their associated palettes/toolbars on the other. What I loved is that if I went from flash to dreamweaver, the flash palettes would drop off monitor #2 to be replaced by the dreamweaver palettes. Now I add Photoshop. Both dreamweaver’s and flash’s palettes minmized as I hoped, to be replaced by Photoshop’s palettes. Now here’s the problem: When I switch from Photoshop to any other application, the Photoshop palettes remain on monitor two. So, for example, I could have photoshops and flashes palettes overlapping each other on monitor 2. I’ve searched online, the knowledge base at adobe..but no luck. Please reply with any ideas 🙂
I am running windows xp (fresh install), photoshop 7 (ugraded to vers.
7.01), a Radeon 7500 video card with dual monitor support. Thanks everyone.

Did u even read what I posted? Where did I write ALT-TAB? Hitting TAB in PS makes the palettes disappear, as does minimizing the application. These are the only two solutions to the palette problem I know of and I have been using a dual monitor setup with photoshop for some years now. If you continue yelling at people who are trying to help you, you won’t get a lot of answers in future.

EOD for me, you’re killfiled

Did you even read his response? Minimize PS before switching to another app, and PS’s palettes will disappear from the second monitor.

Sigh….

When I alt-tab through the other applications, they automatically minimize….the same when I click on the minimized applications in the task bar…for example if flash is on my desktop..with it’s tools visible on monitor 2, i can click on the minimized dreamweaver in my task bar and flash’s tools will disappear to be replaced with dreamweavers’.

Not so with Photoshop. If photoshop is the active application on my desktop – I alt-tab to let’s say Flash…I then have flashs tools as well as PS’s.

Yes…I can minimized Photoshop….but it’s another step that doesn’t seen necessary for the other apps. Why only PS?

Not try to be a jerk….

Read his post again and point out where you read "Alt+Tab"…

When pressing Tab in Photoshop the palettes will be hidden (press another time to show them again). So he meant Tab and not Alt+Tab.

No one has accused you of trying; you hit the mark with your first offensive reply to someone who not only was trying to help, he had the right answer straight up.

Gratitude.
