I haven’t been around for a while so forgive me if this has been asked before. I’ve created a few luminosity masks via the ctrl alt tilde keys to see what happens. Then being an obvious selection I mask them to a layer, now it’s apparent I have a selection but really what am I selecting because when I turn the layer on (after having played with levels or curves) and off and its really hard for me to discern what is really happening. I realize I’ve played with the highlights of the image but the shadows also seem to have been touched (but not as much). I don’t know anymore. Any input here is greatly appreciated because I really think at least in my mind that some neat stuff can be done with this.
