Hi Guys,

I’m looking at two options now: electron22blue IV or Vision Master Pro 514. Both are 22" monitors. At this point, I can’t find any reviews on these two monitors anywhere on the web, so I thought maybe someone in this forum had experience with any of the displays.

Please give me your input if you have time.
Thank you in advance.

Found one Pro 514 review here via a Google search. I have used Iiyama monitors for a few years without any problems. Currently using an Iiyama ProLite H540S 21.3” TFT, it replaced one of the older Iiyama 21” CRTs (Pro 502) which I used for about two years and was still ok when I replaced it.

I have a Vision Master 450 which has served me well. I will probably hang onto it until an affordable flat panel becomes viable for color critical work.

Sergi,

While I’ve seen a mixed bag of reviews over the years on Iiyama monitors, that may be due to typical pros and cons of monitors using shadow-mask versus aperture-grill tubes. In my case, I have an old Iiyama Vision Master 450 which I bought in September 1998 and it is still going strong. It is a shadow-mask tube and I’ve got zero complaints for graphics use and can only say that while text looks more than adequate, it may lack a touch of crispness. When I bought the monitor, I first evaulated it at the store using DisplayMate and found it had excellent geometry. It still does after more than 5 years. I use it with an Nvidia Ultra TNT2 graphics card.

Whenever I build a new system, I’ll likely also investigate a new monitor, either a larger CRT or a flat-panel. For CRTs, I’ll definitely look at Iiyama again but others also.

Regards,

Daryl
