Hi,

I have PSP 8. How can I make a photo B/W then colorize a portion of it?

You can desaturate the image and then use your History Brush to restore the color to the section you wish to. Or you can copy the layer, desaturate it, and then erase the part you want to be in color by letting the layer beneath show through. Or you can create an Adjustment Layer and desaturate the image in this layer and use a black brush to restore the color. To create an adjustment layer, click on the icon at the bottom of the Layer’s Palette and choose Hue/Saturation. Slide the Saturation Level to -100.

Why don’t you ask this question in a Paint Shop Pro newsgroup? Lots of people here know how to do this in Photoshop, but we are not PSP experts. Jim
