When I want to save a converted Raw file to JPEG, I find that I have no JPEG file format Plugin.

No JPEG option in File > Save As > [List of options], and no JPEG Plugin in Applications > Photoshop > Plugins > Photoshop Only, (or anywhere else), though I have JPEG2000.

Any suggestions on where or how I could obtain the JPEG plugin?

Wasn’t it supposed to be included in Photoshop CS?

Thanks.

It is likely that your image is 16-bit, or has layers with transparency, so Photoshop is stopping you from saving in a format that doesn’t support these features.

I checked out my plug-in folders and could not find a jpeg plug-in, but I still have the save as jpeg option!
Do you have the ability to save for web? – That uses the jpeg option!

Flatten the image and convert it to 8 bit mode. The save as jpeg option should now be available (save an original copy in PSD first)

Thanks to all who responded.

I was in 16 bit mode and changing to 8 bit did the trick.

Thanks again.

JPEG is not a plugin.
JPEG is built into Photoshop.

But if the image can’t be saved in JPEG, then JPEG won’t be on the list of available file formats.

Check the image mode and bit depth.
