I would like to have a Windows PowerPoint 2000 poster converted to Adobe Illustrator 7.0 or Photoshop 5.0 format. Any suggestions/recommendations?

Thanks.

PP has an option to export all images. Do that, specified as TIFF files.

Thanks for the advice. I just tried it with a 30" x 40" poster. However, the TIFF file only covers a small portion (~ 7.5" x 10") of the poster. What did I do wrong?

hi John,

on a more serious note, what was the resolution in PowerPoint? Maybe the size of the image has not changed (number of pixels), but the resolution is higher now? If that is the case, resize the image to its previous resolution (make sure resmaple is not checked) in PS and it will be back to where you started.

John,

PP is buggy. I have often to print posters 700mm x 1000mm.

For me it works ONLY like this:
Poster was designed for 700mm x 1000mm
Print to file as PostScript (*.ps) using Acrobat Distiller Printer Driver
— Uncheck ‘Don’t send Fonts to Distiller’
means: Send Fonts to D.
— Retain paper size
— Use A4 as paper size in Distiller settings
Result is a PostScript file
Set Distiller
— No compression
— No downsampling
— Leave color unchanged
Click on *.ps file
Distiller starts
Result is a PDF with size A4 (!)
Scale PDF for printing for size 700mm x 1000mm by 1000/297

Any attempt to create the PDF for the final size failed – always loss of images and shift of components.

If you want to rasterize the whole poster (so far it’s
mixed vector and raster for images), then you can do this by PhS.
