I just updated to 2GB of RAM. My computer is a little older and does not have the "DDR dual channel" capability, so I do not think my problem is with this aspect of Photoshop problems. The problem is this. When saving files, the result is a corrupted psd file. When trying to open it, PhotoShop says the file was damaged. I click "open anyway" and there are colored bands running across the bottom layer (it is always the bottom layer). This never happened with 1.5GB DDR RAM. I have done a long memory test at boot and all RAM checks okay. The long test cycles through RAM 5 times. I did a long disc check to repair/recover dammaged sectors and no errors were found.
The system is WIN XP Pro, Pentium 4 1.8Ghz. Both PS 7 and CS do this. I have the memory set to 60% in prefferences.
Any suggestions?
Thanks, Dennis Edson
