a.. Enlarge up to 400%.
a.. Super-resolution technology.
a.. No compromise interpolation.

Sorry, Fixerlabs, I can’t afford it even if it gives me the best laugh of my life.
Nope, I’m not spamming. I’m just amazed that Adobe’s PS page points to it.

Wow. And what’s most amazing is…the super-duper example image they show on their Web site sucks! None of my clients would accept such results; it’s obvious (to my eye, anyway) that the image has been interpolated and lacks high-frequency detail.

Judging from the funkiness and abrupt color and tonal shifts in the eye and the weird mottling on the skin, it looks to me like they’re combining edge detection with some sort of median or high-bandpass filtering. The result smooths out gradations, but introduces mottling and tonal breaks.

I think it looks like crud, but I suppose there might be people somewhere who actually buy it; after all, people listen to Britney Spears, right? 🙂

The Magic Secret is their Insert Pores and Blemishes plug-in.

I looked at that site. They’re joking right? This is really a site put up by Tacit to show why interpolation is useless. Isn’t it? Surely they can’t be serious – the model looks like she’s had a bad dose of the sun…
