Image registering with control points

I have two images that overlap the same area. I would like to co-register the images by picking control points in both images, and transforming one image to match the other. I haven’t been able to find any transforms that will do this for me. I have both images as bitmaps.

Any suggestions?

There are probably hundreds of algorithms, but here’s a simple place to start:

sci.image.processing would be a better place to ask about details or other software.

Hmmm, I should have been more specific. I want to do this with photoshop (hence my post to the photoshop group;) I’m aware of Matlab doing it, however, I have photoshop alredy but do not have Matlab. CG
