Hello
I am using the Photoshop CS tryout.
I have been scanning some slides.

Uncompressed tiffs are 59.735 MB, but supposedly LZW tiffs are 71MB. The same happens in Photoshop 7.01 except that there is a difference in the resulting size in CS and 7,71.741Mb and 71,037MB respectively

I have read somewhere in the forum about this, but cannot find it. I suppose it is possible that the None and LZW choices are inverted.

Mike,

I have never seen the behavior you describe.

As a test save a blank (White) 1000×1000 canvas once with LZW and once without. No matter what the LZW file will be smaller but using a blank canvas will have a much larger impact on the file sizes..

Hello

Thanks, I knew I had read about this somwhere.
I was saving 16 bit images as LZW Tiff.
